Description: Here is another well known, early, important and highly collectable ashtray by Carl Auböck II. This is a very heavy weighing in at over one pound. It is well made and actually spins on its base. Despite being well used with age marks and dings within the bowl and some roughness on the upper edge, it is in great shape and showing the patina of age and honest use. This is actually fun to hold in hand. It has the correct impressed marks "Aubock" and "Made in Austria" as shown. An example of this model sold at Wright actions in October 2016 for $750 crushing its presale estimate of $200-$300. We have also seen these for sale for up to $1,400.
