Description: These bookends designed by Auböck II in 1949 are so popular they are still in production today.  Both are marked with the correct vintage impressed Made in Austria and Auböck marks as shown.  We are dating these to the early 1960s based on the patina and surface wear on the brass that is showing its age.  They bear the earlier marks so they could be 1950s. These were produced in polished brass and textured patinated brass finishes.  More recent examples are done incorporating both finishes with polished brass on the outsides and textured patination on the insides.
