Description: Here is a very rare and possibly unique custom order or possibly prototype ice bucket in a triangulated shape made of nicely grained Brazilian Rosewood with a heavy rosewood Bocce Ball style lid. We are attributing this to Quistgaard based on the wood, bottom construction and the black plastic liner that is used in another Quistgaard Rare Wood Dansk ice bucket we have seen. We have seen one other Quistgaard marked rare woods ice bucket that has an octagonal upward tapering shape with an interior that is stylistically very similar. This has a cork bottom insert that is likely covering the any makers marks, but we are not going to try a remove it. We have never seen another like it, nor has anyone else we have checked with. It does not appear in any of the early Dansk catalogs for their Rare Wood Collection. A truly special object with sculptural quality.
