Description: Here is a somewhat harder-to-find important serving spoon designed by Jens Quistgaard probably in about 1966.  According to various references found on the Internet, these were apparently designed to accompany his stainless flatware services from the same period.  Some Internet sources also cite the design dating to the 1950s, but we have been unable to verify such claims and it does not appear in catalogs of the period.  Plus we can find no flatware designs by Dansk that have these handles, so they are a unique design in themselves.

The handle is either Rosewood or Palisander as shown by the beauty of the open grain.  The design of this spoon allows the raised middle of the handle to stay on the edge of a serving bowl without slipping in.  Marked with the correct impressed marks as show on the verso of the bowl.  We have never seen one in its original box, which has the model number 520 on the side as shown.  Although examples of this design can be found on various internet sites for under $100 each, finding another example in this mint-in-the-box condition could be very difficult and this example is certainly worthy of an institutional collection.
