Description: Here is a pair of the larger and harder to find abstracted Rhino candelabras designed by American artist and sculptor Jonathan Bonner (b.1947), made from patinated copper tubing. Because it’s likely that this model was sold individually, as opposed to in pairs, the patination is different on each, but we are selling them as a pair. Each is signed as shown. Bonner's candlestick designs in the abstracted shapes of alligators, snakes, birds, fish and rhinos are becoming increasingly sought after. As a fine artist Bonner has crossed genres with his design work, including his collaborations with important designer Judy Kensley McKie on furniture pieces.
Bonner is a Providence, Rhode Island based fine artist who has shown his sculpture, installation and works on paper in more than 40 solo exhibitions and is represented in public and private collections throughout the country. His work includes many large-scale outdoor site-specific commissions.
